Does anyone out there remember a song—I thought it was by NRBQ, but evidently it wasn’t at least not under any title I can think of—that involved the singer recounting a number of musicians who might have played for the band, who were virtuosic or handsome or whatever, but (and this was the refrain) “he couldn’t play tasty, oh yeah; tasty, like this,” and then one of the band members would play an allegedly tasty riff)?
I’m not claiming it’s an all-time great, but it haunts my memory of the late seventies, living in Maine, and I’d sure like to pin it down.
