New Warning

According to the labels on my little orange cylinder, when I take Darvocet, I shouldn’t drink, or operate a car or heavy machinery, because the drug may cause dizziness (among other side effects, including dulling the pain of two openings cut into my flesh and sewed together).

What it ought to say is, “Do not blog while under the influence of this drug, and do not leave comments on other people’s blogs. May induce feelings of grandiosity and of immunity to future consequences. Lock down keyboard until the stitches are out.” Not that I’d pay attention if it did say that. . . .

Now you know why people get to love their pain meds. Same with diet drugs. Back during the short period of time in B'wick when I took them, I would have given away the shirt off my back to the knock-on-the-door Mormons!

Ah, yes. Grandiosity and immunity to future consequences. I am reminded of Gerald's hernia operation, not long after we'd met. His post-op behavior left a *lot* to be desired. That we survived the recovery period was a strong sign that we could weather future storms. :)

Glad to hear you're more yourself, however, and if your experience is anything like Gerald's, you _will_ feel much better, soon!
