Rites of Transition

Congratulations today to Nathan Weinberger, to takes on the yoke of the Torah; to Heather, who was ordained to the diaconate on Thursday; to Mark, Fran, Lisa, Carolyn, George, Kara — anyone else? I don’t remember — who are being ordained to the priesthood today.

I just got back from both, and they were great. It was a wonderful experience to be part of that event in two of my friends lives. Heather's was more generic, since she was one of two ordained to the diaconate, and Mark's was more personal, but they were both very special.

I have to admit though, that when we drove up to the cathedral of Western Michigan I fully expected to see the Monty Python troupe and several flying rabbits.

Ann Webber & George Davinich were ordained to the diaconate (with 2 others) also on Sat., the 20th, in Detroit. Susie S. was the Litanist and did a wonderful job --- Monique Ellison vested for the service. Bishop Gibbs has a lovely singing voice --- all in all the service was delightful.
