For a last-minute review of the Reformation, go to the Whirlwind Tour (thanks to Jordon).
(For non-Episcopalians, “General Ordination Exams” provide a means for commissions and bishops to prove to themselves that their ordinands have the capacity to cram vast amounts of schematic knowledge into their vocabulary for a week’s duration, at the whim of people who hold vast power over their futures.)

history is open book....
An interesting journey through the Reformation from an Orthodox point of view. Here is an article on what we call the Radical Reformation that is the root of Unitarianism. Completely useless for the GOE's but might be an interesting counterpoint. It was Calvin himself who burned our first martyr Miguel Servetus at the stake...

Posted by: Revsparker at January 4, 2004 02:50 PMI heard that there is a controversy about whether Luther literally "nailed" a copy of his 95 theses to any church door, and that the words "here I stand I can do no other" were a jazzed-up version, fabricated by his biographers, of his actual words.
Anyone have any detailed knowledge about these scholarly debates ?
Posted by: Timothy Phillips at January 5, 2004 09:48 AMI heard that he did nail them to the door, but that it wasn't as big a deal as some people make it out to be, becuase people nailed stuff on church doors all the time.
