Last In Line

Everyone’s already seen “The Gospel of Debbie” by now, but for the one person who might not have seen it yet — here it is.

Rudnick apparently hasn't spent much time with today's High School teens; this might have been funny if he had dropped all the big words and printed the text completely in lowercase.

I guess that last person was me--thanks for the pointer.

I wonder if some enterprising author could find success by retelling Biblical stories from other perspectives, the way Gregory Maguire has done with fairy tales?

I'm not volunteering, mind, if anyone wants to steal the idea.

All I could think of when I saw this was, "Muffy Birnbaum meets the Gospel."

One thing: as the parent of a teen, I spend a bit of time with the high school crowd, and so feel the need to offer a mild correction to Daniel:

Writing in lower case is often a teen habit, at least online; however, I can name several articulate young souls of my personal acquaintance who do not limit themselves to small words.

My husband said, "AKMA found this just for you." I think he thought I'd be annoyed, but, I was just tickled that you would think of me especially since we've never interacted, so this was, like, so totally cool!

Actually, seriously, Gerry's been trying to get me to expand my blogland boundaries. I usually come here whenever Happy Tutor links to you, and you and Trevor both give me food for thought.
