Glimpse of the Future
Pippa, as you know well, is a fount of ingenuity and imagination. Over the past few months, she’s been offering more and more witty, sharp observations on the world; whereas I once compared her to a convergence of Georgia O’Keefe, Isadora Duncan, and Ethel Merman, now I’d have to add Dorothy Parker to the mix.
This morning she looked in the fridge and said, “Hellman’s Real Mayonnaise. What if they sold Hellman’s Unreal Mayonnaise — what would that be like?” We batted the topic back and forth for a while, concluding that there might be a business opportunity for somebody to market virtual mayonnaise, an empty jar that promises “the best taste you can imagine. . . .”

Um ... That would be Miracle Whip. And I personally think it's yummy.

It would definitely be popular: Low fat, low calorie... Definitely better for you than either Mayo or Miracle Whip.
