I slept later than usual this morning, and Margaret and I had been talking about the time change — so through the power of post-hypnotic [‘hypnos’ in the Greek sense of ‘sleep’] suggestion, I spent the first half of my run assuming that clocks had changed.
So I was thinking, ‘Today is Sunday, but what happened on Saturday? I know I didn’t cook breakfast… Oh, no! I didn’t buy Margaret a newspaper! OK, AKMA, try to remember: what happened on Saturday that was specific to Saturday. You must be able to remember something… It’s British Summer Time, so it has to be Sunday.’
Only when I pulled out my phone and looked at the calendar was I convinced that today is, in fact, Saturday.
I wonder what tomorrow morning will be like.
